This LAOPAO hemp rope lamp is completely different from every other candle warmer we sell — the shade is handwoven from real hemp cord in a slim black steel frame, giving it a gorgeous boho, natural look that suits any room with linen, wood or plants.
The hemp shade actually insulates better than glass, so the outside stays cooler to touch, and it gives the most beautiful scattered glow through the weave. Plus it is the only lamp in our range that folds flat for storage between seasons!
You get four brightness levels with silky stepless dimming, a 1, 2 or 4 hour auto-off timer, and two 50W bulbs in the box. The base is about 17.3 x 17.3 cm and the lamp stands roughly 31.5 cm tall.

Is a rope shade safe above a hot bulb?
Yes! The weave sits away from the bulb and hemp insulates heat, so the outer surface stays much cooler than glass. Just let it cool before folding or moving it.
Does the woven shade block the light?
The light comes through as a gorgeous pattern of small points through the weave — soft, warm and really atmospheric in a dim room.
Why would I want a shade that insulates?
Hemp insulates instead of conducting, so more heat goes down onto the candle where you want it, and the outside stays more comfortable to be near.
How does the folding work?

Why is the timer only up to 4 hours?
This model has 1, 2 and 4 hour presets — perfect for an evening. If you want to scent a room overnight, go for one of our lamps with an 8-hour setting.
What is the difference between the four levels and stepless dimming?
A short press steps through four preset levels. If you hold the button it slides smoothly so you can stop exactly where you want — really handy!
How does a candle warmer lamp work?
A warm bulb melts the top of the wax from above so the fragrance lifts into the room. No flame, no smoke — just beautiful scent!
Does the candle get used up?
Very slowly — the wax barely gets used up at all. Only the fragrance oil is released, so the candle lasts far longer than burning.
Will my candle fit?
Yes — standard and medium jar candles, tins and wax melt dishes all work great. For very large tubs, choose a lamp with a bigger clearance.
Can I clean the rope shade?
Just a soft dry brush or a vacuum lightly held near the weave. Never get hemp wet — it stains and can change shape as it dries.
Will it smell of hemp?
There might be a faint natural rope smell for the first hour or two, which fades away. After that you will only smell the candle!
Is it safe around children and pets?
No open flame is brilliant for safety! The shade and bulb area do warm up during use, so keep little hands away.
