St Eval makes its candles from a clifftop home in North Cornwall, and Orange & Cinnamon captures a kitchen larder at Christmas: roughly torn orange rinds, stars of anise and cinnamon quills, steeped in squashed mandarin. It is warm and juicy, and good all year round.
The fragrance opens with orange and mandarin, moves into clove, cinnamon and aniseed, and settles on musk, woods and vanilla. Each tin measures 7.6 cm and burns for up to 45 hours; St Eval recommends burning for 3 to 4 hours at a time.
Its tin is a neat size for a candle warmer lamp, releasing the spiced orange gently without a flame.
